How often in a week do we get to break out of our everyday cycle of routine and do something new or different? Or experience something that you haven’t before?
This week I was privileged to be present at a community expo; this provided me with an insight into just how big our mental health issues are within New Zealand. In some way it gave me a sad heart, but in others it was a delight. The delight was talking with these people, and seeing their fascination with touch and smell. So my skincare samples were bombarded, and I am sure it was the most samples I have given out in such a short period of time! Being able to chat with these people and their carers was so humbling. It was fantastic to see the community support groups that are available within our community but dishearting to see just how big mental health issues are and how we close the door on this issue.
A quote I read earlier this week really resonates with this experience. ‘If we accept that opposites (or graduations of circumstances or differences in ways of being) are all part of the same hologram of life (just as we need different shades and colours to make up a picture) then we can see that we need all those aspects to make up our world’ – Julia Woodman
Often it is our thoughts and fears that stop us from experiencing new things in life. So as that energetic thunderstorm from last night has cleared the air, I encourage you to embrace the fresh new clear air of the aftermath and experience something new or do something that you haven’t done before. Mix up that routine, go a different route to work, communicate with an entire new group of people and have a week of focusing on positive experiences.
Julia Woodman is an author I have just discovered this week (another positive) her book ‘No Paradox – Living both in and outside of the Matrix: Through consciously evolving our consciousness ‘. I am looking forward to reading this and expanding my state of consciousness.
Wishing you a fantastic week full of positive new experiences that are outside of your comfort zone and expand your world. Me xx
